WHAT

Let’s get inspired by real entrepreneurs who took an untraditional route to success. In this blog, we feature business gurus who chose to define success as a) a sense of fulfillment over seeking the highest monetary compensation for their laborious efforts and b) being so passionate about what they do they’re itching to get back in the office every morning. But

HOW do these self-driven maniacs stay hungry for success, what’s their secret? We’re getting the inside scoop on this special breed, to get you fired up on success.

WHY

As three business students in our final year of undergrad, we are absolutely terrified that our only options seem to be go work a typical 9-5 corporate job, or spend the next few years on our parent’s couch contemplating how we could have better used the past four years of our lives. We want to give both you and ourselves a reason to get off the couch, gain a new perspective, and take control of our future today.

Bottom line: Doesn’t matter what path you’re on, your life can always do a complete 180.

WHERE

Canada. We’re primarily focused on the GTA but are always looking to expand to the furthest reaches of the country to bring you a good story.

With parents as small business owners, I’ve been exposed to the entrepreneurial lifestyle since childhood. I chose business school, with the ultimate goal in mind to start my own business some day. I feel I don’t fit into any of the typical business streams and am still trying to figure out what my future holds. The concept of uncertainty exhilarates me, I don’t know where I’ll be in ten, five or even one year from now! The one thing I am certain of, I will pave my own path to success.

I’ve never seriously considered entrepreneurship as a career path for myself, which is curious since my dad built his own business to a certain degree of success. I think I disregarded the idea since I never thought I could achieve something similar, but then I started to realize that success isn’t defined by any one factor. What you hope to achieve doesn’t have to be limited to making money, but can be reflected by something you want to change or the impact you wish to make. None of these entrepreneurs set out with the sole intention of making money, they managed to combine their passions with a profitable idea, and that’s what we hope for all of you.

I’ve been interested in entrepreneurship for a few years now. Everything started back in highschool, when I discovered an online startup magazine. I started studying “Business Administration” and followed my passion for working with and getting inspired by entrepreneurs by organising the biggest purely student-run conference for entrepreneurship and innovation back at home in Mannheim, Germany, called “Q-Summit”.
